Join this DigitalNow Workshop Discussion

by Paul Pomerantz, CAE
Worldwide Executive Director
Drug Information Association

Paul will be moderating a panel discussion at DigitalNow 2010 titled, "You’re Global. Get Over It. Now How?"

These are indeed interesting times. One of the factors most influencing our world is globalization. We’ve developed this panel under the assumption that we are all, in fact, global associations. Much like most industries, the impact of global industries, professions and supply chains makes itself felt in every organization, from local to national to those that fully identify themselves as global. The question is not whether, but how, we have adopted our organizations.

Our panel represents a range of associations and stages of experience with globalization. For all of us, this is a work in progress; we are still learning how to do business in a connected, but rapidly changing world. We are planning for the panel to be very interactive, more of a series of conversations than presentations. We will each share our organizational experiences:

  • What we do globally and how we got there
  • The role of governance; How we have organized for globalization
  • Challenges and opportunities
  • What we are learning along the way

We hope you plan to be there. To help get things started, we would like to ask you to weigh in on a couple questions here on the Digital Now Blog:

  1. Does your organization consider itself global?
  2. What have been the major enablers or barriers to your development of a global vision or strategy?
  3. Are there specific questions or issues you would like to see this session address?

We look forward to hearing from you here and to seeing you in Orlando!

Paul

Joining Paul for this intriguing discussion will be Gregory Balestrero, President and Chief Executive Officer, Project Management Institute and Ronald B. Kuppersmith, MD, President of the Board at American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
